ROA emerged as an Italian footwear brand in 2015 from the valleys between the Alps of Italian South Tyrol as a response on how to continuously pass between home, workshop and mountainside.
The resulting hybrid attitude sits at the core of ROA, and as a brand it constitutes an on-going exploration of how to adapt this hybrid attitude to contemporary conditions. How to remain grounded in the landscape while engaging with a contemporary society.

ROA’s Sella, named after the Sella Group mountain range in the Dolomites, couples lightness and breathability with durable rebound and superior traction thanks to the combination of two Vibram’s® technologies, Traction lugs and Megagrip for its outsole, and a two-parts split EVA midsole that enables the upper to cover the sole in the heel area as a wedge, blurring the lines between the bottom unit and the upper. The latter is uniquely developed with Texon, who contributed its proprietary ProWeave Jacquard process to develop a custom one-piece woven upper featuring various thickness zones function for the required foot support.
